SDBP Café International: Introducing SDBP’s new strategy Ljubljana, 7 October 2009:
On October 7th 2009 SDBP - The International Business Platform of Slovenia organized SDBP Café, a networking event for its members. The event took place in Kavarna KavaČaj Slamič, a coffee shop in the Center of Ljubljana. More than 35 members and invited guests participated at the event. The purpose was to present SDBP's new strategy which has been developed under the new executive board and to introduce new Dutch ambassador, Mr. Jos Douma.
At the beginning of the event president of SDBP’s executive board, Mr. Tičo Zupančič welcomed all the guests and presented the foundations of SDBP's new strategy. He thanked to strategic group which was co-creating SDBP’s new directions and projects. He introduced the following: “SDBP aims to become an active business platform contributing to the progress of a balanced global society. We will achieve this by sharing competences and business opportunities through international networking and constructive dialogue. Our work will base on following values: cultural openness, entrepreneurial sense, cooperation and ethics”. President also stressed how deeply SDBP respects its roots which originate from Slovenian-Dutch friendship, however in 2009 SDBP is widening its scope to become a global networking platform open to all international entrepreneurs and companies doing business in or with Slovenia.
Further on, Mr. Jurij Giacomelli and Mr. Peter Ješovnik presented one of new SDBP’s products - the concept for a unique event experience called SDBP Café International. They presented how a special group of SDBP’s member tried to re-develop SDBP’s regular meetings into a unique gathering of selected group of people, members and invited guests, which shall enrich the public debate in Ljubljana and shall integrate it with the international – global – community.
Moreover, Mrs. Anita Plak Semprimožnik introduced the up-graded version of SDBP’s website which shall become more interactive website which will support the business networking platform whilst increasing SDBP’s visibility.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Zupančič introduced new Dutch ambassador, Mr Jos Douma who is also the new president of SDBP's Supervisory Board. Mr. Douma welcomed the guests and stressed he believes the SDBP can be a great opportunity for nurturing Slovenian-Dutch relations and also for strengthening international relations in Slovenia. The meeting ended with debate among members and sharing of their opinions and business opportunities.
